Life RankThis informative Life to Eagle Seminar is for parents and scouts to learn what is required on the journey from Life Scout to Eagle Scout.  

The paperwork to complete the Eagle rank can be intimidating. This seminar will help boys, parents and leaders understand the process and what is required. The seminar will cover the Eagle application and the Eagle Project Worksheet.  All Boy Scout Leaders, Parents of Boy Scouts and Future Eagles are encouraged to attend.  Scouts who are at least Star Rank getting ready to achieve Life Rank should definately attend this helpful session.

Cub Scout Leader Specific Training - Sat May 19th 2012 PDF Print E-mail

cublogojpegInstructor-Led training known as “Cub Scout Leader Specific Training” is REQUIRED for all Cub Scout Leaders. The course format consists of a general introduction followed by specific breakout sessions. If you have already taken this course for a previous position in your Pack, then you only need to attend the Breakout Session for your new role. The Breakout Sessions include:

  • Cubmasters and Assistants
  • Webelos Den Leaders and Assistants
  • Cub Scout Den Leaders and Assistants (Wolf and Bear)
  • Tiger Cub Den Leaders
  • Pack Trainers
  • Pack Committee Chairpersons and all other Committee Members

THIS TRAINING HAS BEEN CANCELED DUE TO LACK OF SUFFICIENT SIGNUPS.  PLEASE CONTACT SHERRI ZUCKER TO ARRANGE TRAINING FOR SMALLER GROUPS.

Alpine District Camporee - June 1-3 2012 PDF Print E-mail

Camporee 2011Camporee is a District wide event with Troops, Crews and Teams from Alpine District gathering for a weekend competition!  Camporee will be packed with great events and skill testing activities.  The 2012 Camporee will include events that will make this a jam packed weekend for your Troops. 

This includes for 2012:

Rifle Range
– Age 13 and above.
Archery
Low COPE Course
– Open to all Scouts.
High COPE Course – Rope traversal 30’ above ground.  Age 13 and above.
Bouldering Wall
Climbing Wall – Age 13 and above.  11-12 yr patrols only after other events.
Canoe Race
Dinner Cook-Off
Tug of War
Scout Skills - Traditional Camporee scout skills competitions will be included!

IOLS Intro to Outdoor Leader Skills - June 1-2 2012 PDF Print E-mail
Trained.00280Required training for all Scoutmasters, Varsity Coaches, Venturing Advisors for crews who have an Outdoor Adventure focus, and all of their registered Assistants.  This is a 24 hour participatory outdoor experience to review scout skills used in the out-of-doors to achieve the First Class Rank.

This training is being held in conjunction with the Alpine District Camporee.  Training will be provided for leaders participating in the camp and anyone else wishing to get this training requirement done.

Wednesday May 30th @ 7:00 pm for a mandatory prep meeting.
Friday June 1st @ 7:00 pm through Saturday June 2nd for instruction.  Meet in the Dining Hall on Friday after dinner with your Troop.  Saturday you will find the instruction at Mt. Pilchuck.
There will be a mandatory meeting on Wednesday May 30th from 7:00-9:30pm at Mary Queen of Peace Church (St. Bernard Room) in Sammamish to review course outline and complete menu planning.  Be sure to attend this meeting.

Greetings Scouts and Scouters,

After a three year wait, it is time again for WashJam 2012, the Washington State Scout Jamboree, at Fort Lewis, Washington.  Join over 4000 Scouts of all ages from Washington, Oregon, British Columbia and beyond, for the biggest Scouting event in the Pacific Northwest.

The event will take place over August 16 - 19, 2012, and will feature a wide range of exciting activities in seven different themed areas:

Technology Challenge
Adventure Land
|Survival Challenge
Advancement Challenge
Athletic Challenge
Venturing Challenge
Mountain Man Encampment

There will also be the "Cub Scout Pirate's Realm", for the Cub Scouts, featuring a pirate themed activity area with a pirate ship, castles, climbing wall and more.

Prepared for LifeThe new adult leader application (524-501) states on the cover that all applicants for membership are required to take Youth Protection Training within 30 days of registering. This is NOT the case in the Chief Seattle Council. All applicants for membership are REQUIRED to complete Youth Protection Training BEFORE submitting their application and before volunteer service with youth begins. A certificate of completion must be attached to the adult leader application in order to be processed. Youth Protection Training is available online at www.scouting.org. Thank you for understanding the importance of keeping our youth safe!
