Mission Statement

The mission of the Aquila District is to implement the program of the Boy Scouts of America within our geographical boundary and to work with the Chief Seattle Council in achieving our common goals.

Vision Statement

Working within the Mission and Vision of the BSA, the volunteers of the Aquila District will:

Offer every boy the opportunity to be a Scout.
Train Scout leaders to deliver the Boy Scouting Program effectively.
Organize and encourage inter-unit events in a positive atmosphere.
Respect each boy and each adult and guard their safety and privacy within the program.
Be guided in all of our actions by the tenants found in the Boy Scout Oath and Law.

Raised in Ellensburg, WA
Moved to Bellevue - 1966. Graduated from Bellevue High School - 1969
Served in the US Naval Reserves from 1969-1979
Graduated from Bellevue CC - 1976
Graduated from Univ. Wash. - 1985
Married to Jeanette since 1987
Two sons, Sean and Chris - both Eagles
Chris currently serves in the U.S. Marines
Active in Aquila District scouting for 12 years. Served as Cubmaster in Pack 398 (4 years), ASM and Scoutmaster in Troop 398 (8 years), Unit Commissioner (7 years), and FOS Chairman (1 year). (Learning to say "No" is difficult!)

Born in Amarillo, Texas
Moved to Washington in 1966. Graduated from Tumwater High School 1975
Attended Centralia CC, Washington State University & Phoenix Institute of Technology focusing in Architecture
Married to Colleen since 1982
Two Sons, Doug and Phil -- both Eagle Scouts
Doug is finishing masters at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University (Pilot Stuff)
Phil is currently attending Washington State University (Communications)
Active adult with Cub/Boy Scouts since 1993
Active with Troop 282 in West Seattle since 1995,serving as Committee member, ASM & SM
Woodbadge Trained in 1997
Silver Beaver recipient 2009
Worked in the Reinforcing Steel Industry as Steel Detailer and Engineering Manager for 25+ years
Self employed Steel Detailer for 5 years
Currently working as Estimator for American Construction, Marine Construction
Hobbies include Woodworking and Stained Glass, Golfing, Hiking, Camping
