Foothills District’s Camporee/NiteHike event is rapidly approaching Sept 24^th-26^th at Ranger Creek Airfield, near Camp Sheppard.   Last years event was enjoyed by over 100 scouts from Foothills District and was highlighted in September’s Boys Life Magazine.   Troops and Crews from any District are welcome to participate. The event is open to 2^nd year Webelos, Scouts, Venturers, and Varsity Teams-- cost to participate is $8 per scout (no charge for adults or scouts running stations). 

 “100 years of Scouting—the Spirit of Baden-Powell” will be our theme for Camporee/NiteHike.  We’ll be combining traditional camporee events from history with a NiteHike on Saturday night to celebrate BSA’s First 100 years.

The Foothills District primarily serves the approximately 2000 youth in the communities of Auburn, Algona, Pacific, Covington, and Maple Valley.

The Foothills District was formed in 1996 when the Green River District was split because of the large number of youth and units it was serving. The Green River District continues to serve the communities of Kent and Renton.

The Foothills District earned the Quality District Award in 1996, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2010. by providing increasing opportunities for youth to join the program, achieving its Friends of Scouting gift goal, and providing a quality program to its units. The Foothills District continues the tradition of being a quality district.

Bradley Roberts currently serves as our District Executive.

The Foothills District Serves over 1000 adult volunteers that serve over 2000 youth. Over 50 outstanding volunteers provide unit service, membership services, finance service and program on our District Committee.

The Foothills District runs a number of fun district-wide activities each year including the bicycle rodeo, Fall Camporee, and Summer Cub Scout Day Camp. Good Turn for America, advancement programs, and the Order of the Arrow Chapter are character-building activities provided to our youth. We also support our volunteers in their efforts by providing training programs and recognition for their hard work throughout the year.
