Joining the Camp Staff team is a wonderful way to develop leadership skills and help different types of people while having tons of fun. The following Camp Staff positions are available:
Summer Camp Staff
For Camp Brinkley, Parsons, and Pigott. Minimum ages for most positions are 16,18 and 21 years of age depending on position and level of responsibility. Brinkley hosts our Cub Scout resident camp programs. Parsons and Pigott are the home of Boy Scout summer camping in the Chief Seattle Council.
National Youth Leadership Training Staff
For those especially knowledgeable in Scouting and will devote one week to the training of the youth leadership of our movement. Arrangements can be made to serve on both summer camp staff and National Youth Leadership staff. Minimum ages are the same as for summer camp staff with a few exceptions.
Winter Camp Staff
Assist with Camp Sheppard's weekend programs for Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. This camp season stretches from December through March each year.
Counselor in Training (unpaid position)
A staff member, usually 14-15 years old, who is training to be a paid staff member. Used in all camps and programs. Can be for the entire season or a shorter period of time. Click HERE for further information.
Volunteer Position
As in all Scouting activities, volunteer leaders play an important role. Positions such as commissioners, medics/physicians, chaplain, and others, make camp programs more effective.
