You are invited to an adult basic leader training event for all areas of scouting. Come get the knowledge you need to do your job well. Earn your “Trained” patch. Most of all — just come and have fun! Please register right away by filling in the form below and bring it to the scout shop.

Outdoor Leader Skills for Webelos Leaders, Part 1 Saturday, September 18 9:30 am to 4:00 pm at Camp Piggott -- held in conjunction with Webelos Woods. Register as an adult for Webelos Woods. Cost is $5.00 and attendance in both parts is required for completion of this class.

This weekend, our Scouts arrived from Summer Camp. The Boy Scouts were at Camp Pigott near Monroe from July 25th through July 31st. The Cub Scouts were at Camp Brinkley from July 29th and came home on August 1st. Both parties had a lot of fun. Here are some of the things they did.
For the Boy Scouts, we had 12 boys from ages 11-16. They took part in a lot of camp wide activities, ate hardy meals, got their Totin' Chip and Fireman's Chit, and earned merit badges galore. They made up a team for the Rendezvous Run relay race, and three of them took part in the excruciating Omachee Marathon. Congratulations to Kevin Santos, Jesus Santos, and Edgar Valencia for taking part in the triathlon in the Scout age group, and to Paul Huynh, CJ Timm, and Jose Santos for racing in the adults age group. Paul even won the whole race. Hope to see you all next year at summer camp.
For the Cub Scouts we had 16 boys from ages 7-10 who went to Camp Brinkley for 4 days. They did everything from BB gun shooting to cooking, archery to arts and crafts. All of them learned so much there, they were practically ready to go camping all by themselves. It was a total blast for them, and a great experience for many of their first times camping. We hope to take them all camping again next year as well. |
