Camp Sheppard High Adventure Base
Providing a challenge since 1966
Camp Sheppard
is located at the footstep of majestic Mt. Rainier and next door to the
scenic Norse Peak Wilderness Area. Mt. Rainier’s eye captivating summit
dominates the Washington skyline at 14’411 feet and is the highest peak in
Washington state. Mt. Rainier National Park’s hiking and climbing
opportunities are a true wonderland wilderness experience. The Norse Peak
Wilderness Area is 52,180 acres of scenic forest basins dotted with lofty
peaks and beautiful alpine lakes. The Norse Peak’s 6,856-foot summit and the
famous Pacific Crest Scenic Trail are some of the many dynamic attractions
to this special region of the Cascade Mountain Range.

Our staff has
many years of hiking and climbing experience.

The Camp
Sheppard High Adventure Base program has conducted over 200 treks in
Washington.

We teach
state-of-the-art hiking and climbing techniques.

instructor to trekker ratio is 5 to 1 for hikes and 3 to 1 for
mountaineering treks.

Camp Parsons High Adventure Base
Camp Parsons high adventure treks will
challenge older Scouts who are looking for an excellent outdoor experience.
Canoe Trek: Scouts will canoe along the shores of the Hood Canal,
viewing unmatched scenery and wildlife while meeting the challenges of
navigation and planning. Hiking Trek: This expedition will provide
breathtaking vistas and daunting challenges, creating memories that will
