New Eagle Scouts

About the Eagle Scout rank

For the past 99 years Eagle Scouts have come to be recognized as responsible young men who have developed the qualities of leadership, self-reliance and fitness. The Eagle Scout rank carries with it a special significance, not only in Scouting, but also in higher education, business, and community serving organizations. The award is a performance-based achievement whose standards have been well maintained over the years. Today, less than 4% of all young people who enter Scouting earn the honor of Eagle Scout. To earn the Eagle Scout rank, the highest advancement rank in Scouting, a Boy Scout must fulfill requirements in the areas of leadership, service, and outdoor skills.
