Scouting’s Journey to Excellence (JTE) is the BSA aspirational planning, performance, and recognition program designed to encourage and reward the success of our units. It is meant to encourage excellence and continuous improvement in providing a quality program at all levels of the BSA. Due to the extraordinary circumstances occurring in 2020, the JTE unit criteria have been revised, and are now available at https://www.scouting.org/awards/journey-to-excellence/

The Northern Trails District is part of the Chief Seattle Council, Boy Scouts of America. Our district includes the cities of Bothell, Carnation, Duvall, Kenmore, Redmond, Woodinville, and surrounding areas northeast of Seattle, Washington. The district serves approximately 1,700 youth. The district was formed in June 2019 combining the former North Lake(s) district and the Redmond portion of the former Sammamish Trails district.
The name Northern Trails is a combination honoring the history of both the North Lakes and Sammamish Trails districts, representing the two becoming a new whole.
